3 Ways to Get Radiant Skin Overnight

At night, I often dream about waking up with radiant and glowing skin. I’m talking about that fresh face glow after a great hot yoga class… a luminous face without makeup! A good night’s sleep is always a great place to start, but life isn’t always amenable to a restful night. But thankfully there are radiance serums, moisturizers and all sorts of skincare tricks that can help us fake it until we make it.

Drink Water & Skin Hydration

Dehydrated skin can cause premature aging and dull complexion. Stay away from products with heavy fragrance or skin with alcohol which can aggravate sensitive skin. La Roche Posay’s hydraphase line has active ingredient Hyaluronic Acid, that helps with skin regeneration and helps moisturize by delivering water into the deep layers of the skin.

Radiance Serums

Adding an extra step in your nighttime skin routine doesn’t need to be a chore, and adding a hydrating or anti-wrinkle serum can give you that much needed skin cell renewal you need to wake up with fresh and luminous! Look for serums with vitamin C, moisturizing hydraulic acid, or glycolic acid for gentle exfoliation. Jurlique Purely Bright Radiance Serum, Caudalie Perfect Radiance Serum, and SkinCeuticals C+A serum have the perfect balance of hydration and exfoliation.

Night Cream

Depending on your skin type, moisturizing before bed can help you wake-up looking rejuvenated. For oily skin, look for a moisturizer that is oil-free, water-based, or rich with exfoliating ingredients such as retinol. Normal and combination skin can benefit from products that are rich in vitamins C and A, which brightens skin tone and complexion. Dry skin types will especially benefit from richer night creams with light exfoliating ingredients that help remove dead and dry skin cells. Good products to try include, Murad Essential-C Night Moisture, Clinique Repairwear Intensive Night Cream, and NeoStrata Night Repair Cream.

Active Ingredients

Depending on your skin care needs, here is a short run-down of active ingredients to look for: Hyaluronic Acid for moisturizing properties, Vitamins C for brightening, Vitamin A for cell regeneration and fading scars, Glycolic Acid or Retinol that helps exfoliate and clear-up skin.

Get a good night sleep and wake-up with brighter skin!
