It’s a big day for everyone’s favourite drugstore beauty brand, CoverGirl. Today it CoverGirl made history, announcing the brand’s first-ever male ambassador, James Charles.
Fellow CoverGirl ambassador Katy Perry shared the news on Instagram, with the brand following suit shortly after, posting a video and a photo introducing the 17-year-old aspiring makeup artist to their roster of brand ambassadors.
CoverGirl has a history of introducing ground-breaking ambassadors, but James Charles as a CoverBoy is the first in what we hope is an exciting future for the brand.
All of our CoverGirls are role models and boundary-breakers, fearlessly expressing themselves, standing up for what they believe and redefining what it means to be beautiful. James Charles is no exception. One year ago, he boldly chose to launch his Instagram to the world, using transformative, dynamic makeup looks to showcase the many facets of his personality, serving as an inspiration to anyone who might have been afraid to do the same, the brand said in a press release.
James Charles already has a whopping 436,000 followers on Instagram and his work aptly grants him the title of makeup artist (trust us, you’re going to want to follow him). While he’ll appear in a number of print and TV ads for CoverGirl’s So Lashy mascara, we think that his brows are worthy of a deal, too (and let’s just hope that he passes on some of his makeup expertise down the line, too).
