Sometimes you want to get a workout in and you really don’t feel like going to the gym to do it. Partaking in your own outdoor bootcamp or yoga session can easily be done in your backyard or nearby park and limited equipment is required. Grab a jump rope, resistance band and any objects like recycling bins, boxes, soccer balls (essentially anything that you can use as check points) and separate them so you can do intervals. Starting with the object closest to you, run to it, touch the object, run back to your starting point. Then run to the second check point and run back to your original starting point and continue this until the last check point where you’ll then proceed to do a suicide sprint (run as fast as you can) back to your starting point. Don’t want to cart all that stuff with you? Try bodyweight exercises instead or bring your phone and take your favourite workout videos into the sunshine. If you need the added motivation of an instructor check out outdoor bootcamps like NatureFit or yoga in High Park.
