Montreal-based fashion duo Martin Lim has teamed up with Reitmans for a holiday capsule collection. The collection of ten dresses keeps the figure in mind, using this season’s biggest trends – colour blocking, flowing fabrics and contrasting textures, resulting in flattering silhouettes.
One thing we always think about is the woman, Pao Lim said. We want them to feel good about how they look and the clothes they wear. We want to make women feel beautiful and confident, and be comfortable.
The collection is available in select stores in Ontario and Quebec on November 2, with a special pre-sale online at Reitmans.com on November 1. Prices range from $85 to $120.
Our collection for Reitmans is very much in keeping with our look, which is sophisticated but also effortless and easy, Pao Lim said. It was about taking the best elements of what we’ve done and putting them into ten dresses.
Lim and Danielle Martin have been designing together since they met in 1995, they’ve worked for Roland Mouret and several major international retailers and manufacturers, and in 2010 the husband and wife team launched their own line, Martin Lim.
We work together in a way that compliments each other very well, Martin said. When designing a collection, we both start to sketch, and we show each other our sketches. And then we often sketch over each other’s sketches!
The collection consists of six regular size garments, two petites and two plus size. With many different looks to choose from, variations of the LBD, a mock halter dress in purple and a one-shoulder teal dress, you’ll surely find a few dresses to get you through the holiday party circuit.
