Call It Spring introduces new, sustainable styles just in time for the holidays…
This week Call It Spring will release its first sustainable vegan shoe and handbag collection. The collection includes styles that are solely made of sustainable materials including jersey made from recycled water bottles, insoles made from a natural algae, and eco vegan leather that uses fewer chemicals and emits less CO2 in production than standard polyurethane.
In May, Call It Spring committed to becoming a fully vegan brand and has been embracing sustainable materials ever since.
The 19-item collection, that hits stores on October 30, includes women’s hiking boots, high-heeled boots, strappy heels and two different styles of purses. By using sustainable materials to create the collection, the Canadian company kept 295,629 standard plastic water bottles out of landfills and oceans, helped to clean and replenish over 1 million litres of water in rivers and lakes, and helped to save over 58 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions—the equivalent of driving a car around the earth five times.
