Movie. Dinner. Yawn. When did first dates turn into such methodical and predictable (nevermind awkward) appointments? Aren’t they supposed to be”you know”fun? First date loyalists will have you believe that safe is the way to go, but pay no attention to the people with the movie stubs. Instead, try out one of these quirky pranskter date ideas to bring a little fun to your first date.
Walk the Dogs
The invisible dogs, that is. Pretend to have a pair of invisible dog leashes and set out for a stroll. It’ll be a great way to break the ice and add more mirth to an awkward first encounter. Chat as if there’s nothing unusual about your outing. Maybe even take your fake Fidos to the boardwalk or other heavily dog-populated areas. That way, everyone will get a chance to socialize.
Go ring shopping
Ok, it’s a little soon. But it will definitely be a lot of fun. Head over to a jewelry store and start browsing together. Don’t plan your story; just improvise and see where it goes. You met on a flight to Geneva? You’re starving artists painting for world peace? You want diamond earrings to match? The date will give you a chance to show off your imaginative side and find out a little about his. And hey, maybe you’ll get a ring out of the deal.
Mock the masses
This one’s an oldie but a goodie. Take a dollar (or a twenty, if you so desire) and glue it to the sidewalk. Pick a spot where people are sure to notice it, like near a crosswalk or just outside a store. Make sure you and your date are out of sight, sit back and enjoy. There’s nothing like merciless taunting to bring two people together.
Fake a breakup
Make sure it’s angry, loud and very public. Set some guidelines before (Let’s keep it PG-13) and go to it. Crying is always fun, as is bended-knee pleading, and maybe even incorporate an impassioned reconciliation. If you’ve won applause by the fight’s end, you know you’ve put on a good show. You’ll have a great topic to discuss at your dinner debrief (but hopefully not a glimpse into your love life’s future).
I’ve never heard of this “trend” & I’m glad no one has ever asked me on a first date like this. I’d probably laugh at/with my date, but I’m pretty sure that would be our first & last date. smh Terrible suggestions!

These seem like bad ideas for a first date.
Maybe these are dates for later in a relationship when it has a solid foundation and your partner already knows you’re not crazy (or are crazy).
Plus, these four situations are all ideal for two people that are the exact same: spontaneous, bold, comfortable looking insane in public, and (to be honest) a little immature and obnoxious.
