Hot Date Ideas

The dating world can be a scary place. A girl’s got to worry about commitment phobes, serial dates and plain old jerks, just to name a few. But just because the dating scene can be bad, it doesn’t mean the dates you go on have to be.

A good date is one that gives the two parties a chance to get to know each other, without the pressure of a face-to-face interrogation-style encounter. A fun date alleviates feelings of nervousness and boredom. And of course, it hopefully leads to what we all want from a date: another date. (What did you think I meant to say? Erase those naughty thoughts from your minds, ladies.)

If a date is supposed to be an opportunity to learn more about the other person, you’re best off sticking to activities that you know you’ll both have fun with. Going the non-traditional route for a date is a great way to compare interests and dislikes. You’ll also get a feel for your guy’s personality and what he’ll be like in different situations.

Here are four foolproof places to go on a date:

The stand-up comedy show date

Whoever said laughter is the best medicine was really on to something. When you tell your own jokes, you run the risk of your date not getting the punchlines”which can lead to awkward silences, fast! But nothing breaks the ice like a good joke, especially when it’s delivered by a professional comedian. (And if he or she falls flat, you can always laugh at that too.) Plus, rehashing the best zingers after the show will put you both right at ease.

The wine tasting date

On a wine tasting date, you get to sample some delicious wines while discussing what you like and don’t like about each”which can then lead into other lines of conversation. If you can both handle your booze, you’re good to go.

The at-home dinner date

If you love to cook, why not make your date smile by preparing a delicious meal for him? Like the saying goes, the quickest way to a man’s heart will always be through his stomach. This date gives you the chance to impress him with your culinary skills. If you’re an ace in the kitchen, pick out a few great recipes, try them out beforehand and ask him over for dinner¦ and hopefully, dessert.

The skating rink date

Head to the skating rink and strap on some ice skates for a romantic”and healthy”date option. Hold hands as you circle around the rink. This date also gives you lots of opportunities to play damsel-in-distress.

I don’t agree about the dinner date also…I had 2 dinner dates thinking to make things a little more personal or chatty like but both men ended up thinking I invited them to have sex. Not long after dinner, both did the same “kinda” moves: they got really comfortable tried to touch and kiss. It was rather humiliating for me that this was their thoughts and I felt like a cheap date. So I don’t suggest home for first or even second dates. Nothing happened but I had to say NO several times, on both dates…I am repelled by some men right now! Thank God the best one is still out there for me! LOL 🙂

I don’t agree about the dinner date. My mother told me to never feed a man until he has fed me! Before you let a man into your home, you should know a lot about him. Most men think an invitation to dinner is an invitation to sex.
