The temperature is rising, and we’re not just talking about the weather! Dating rules still apply in the summer, but everything is kicked up a notch when the weather is warm and the sun is shining. Whether you are being courted by a new gentleman suitor, or looking forward to some PDA-packed days (and nights!) with your long time love, summer dates are always hotter (pun intended!). Here are some different date ideas to try when you are ready for that much needed dose of summer lovin’:
First Date
Ditch the typical (and kind of cliché©) dinner and movie for your first rendezvous with your new summer hunk. First impressions are everything, and you want to make a good one. So, do your research. Check local events that are happening in your city and get out there! It can sometimes be a lot of pressure to be alone at a table with a guy, trying to think of something clever and witty to say- not to mention being in a dark room with him! A food festival, free concert, or sporting event will give you and your guy more of an atmosphere to interact in. You can try new things together, take in some culture and really get a good sense of whether you are compatible or not. Not to mention, you will be outside enjoying the beautiful summer weather!
Not your Average Date
If you have been with your man for a while and are feeling in a bit of a rut after a long winter of ˜dates at home’, then this one is for you. Don’t loose touch or forget the things you two did when you were a new couple in the ˜honeymoon stage’. Think back on your best date; why not recreate it? Have your significant other plan a date he thinks was your best date, and you do the same. Add in a little summer flair with an afternoon hike, or a stroll on the beach to get you outside. If that doesn’t fly, try adapting the old. Instead of a movie night at home or at the local theatre, see if there is a drive-in theatre near by. Grab some junk food, get a little dressed up, and snuggle up together under the stars. It will make you feel young and in love again- that feeling you knew was there all along!
The Daytime Date
Take advantage of those precious days off where you can actually enjoy the weather, instead of fantasizing about it while gazing out of your office window! Grab your man and your helmet and hit the pavement on your bike. Plan your route before you leave, and agree on some stops on the way: the café© in th morning for some brunch, the beach for a few hours in the afternoon, the trail for a good workout, and whatever else you two love to do! Being active together will make you both feel good and bring you closer together. Leave plenty of time for mid-pedal kisses and some handholding is a must! You will be surprised at how much conversation you and your man have when it is just you and him in the great outdoors!
