When the inevitable cold weather hits Toronto this winter, rather than avoiding the cold and staying indoors all season, you should embrace the winter with your significant other. Believe it or not, but winter is surprisingly the perfect time to plan fun date ideas. There's plenty to do outside for the more adventurous types like snowshoeing, skating and sledding--not to mention plenty of indoor activities for the homebodies like movie marathons, cooking classes and spa dates. Below, we shared our 12 favorite cold weather date ideas that you can enjoy with your significant other this winter.
Volunteer

If you have an afternoon free this winter, you and your significant other should donate your most prized possessions, your time. The holidays are a busy time and the city’s not for profit organizations are always in need of extra assistance. Second Harvest, The Salvation Army, Central Neighbourhood House and Yonge Street Mission are always looking for extra hands over the holidays.
