America rules the talk show circuit, but now that the “The View” is getting a casting shake-up, it’s time for Canada to find its own groove.
Enter: “The Social,” an hour-long daily talk show starring relationship expert Cynthia Loyst, news anchor Melissa Grelo, entertainment reporter Traci Melchor, and gossip blogger Lainey Lui, which will begin in the 2013/2014 TV seaso on CTV.
The show will revolve around pop culture and lifestyle topics popular with Canadians, and will also allow viewers to participate via social media, making it a one-of-a-kind program in North America.
“We are very proud to add another Canadian series to our winning daytime lineup,” said Phil King, president of CTV Programming and Sports. “‘The Social’ will reflect the pulse of what Canadians are talkng about on a daily basis.”
You can also expect celebrity guests to drop by the program, as well as special guest co-hosts (in the spirit of “The View”).
