Following the success of two smash albums, Lykke Li has her career on lock – but modelling? Looks like she’ll be focusing on something other than music for the next little while.
Recently signed to Viva Models – the same agency that represents Raquel Zimmerman, Natalia Vodianova and Edie Campbell – Lykke Li seems to have begun a modelling career that doesn’t come as a surprise to anyone who’s been following the Swedish artist’s style.
Viva director Natalie Hand agrees.
“Lykke [Li] is of course a supremely talented musician with a great deal of integrity regarding her music choices and personal style,” she told Vogue UK. “But more than just a musician, what really seduced us and made us want to represent her was her truly creative spirit. Her ebullient curiosity extends itself most notably towards fashion, but also towards the temptations of acting, directing and many, many other areas besides these. Her artistic passion marks her out as something very special to watch in the future.”
Of course, Lykke Li isn’t the only musician who’s been signed to a major modelling agency. Buzz-pop artist Lana Del Rey (who you’ll more recently remember as the singer who just graced SNL‘s stage) was announced as a new face of Next Model Management. Though thanks to Saturday night’s performance, you might need to bet that she may fare better as model.
Unless she channels full-blown art like Lykke Li.
