Hudson’s Bay Team Up with Dsquared2 for Rio Olympics

It’s happening, fans of sportswear: Hudson’s Bay is teaming up with Dsquared2 to design the outfit for Team Canada at this year’s Olympic Opening Ceremonies in Rio.

“The Opening Ceremony represents a moment of tremendous national pride for our athletes,” said Liz Rodbell, President of Hudson’s Bay. “We want them to feel strong and confident as they march into the stadium and we are excited that the Dsquared2-designed look will give them that extra boost of Canadian cool.”

Understandably, Dsquared2’s founders (and twin brothers) Dan and Dean Caten are equally psyched.

“We are constantly inspired by Canada, so it is an honour to partner with Hudson’s Bay in dressing Team Canada,” they said. “The Opening Ceremony look is made with our passion for our birth country mixed with the energetic spirit of Dsquared2.”

So what does it look like? Well, that’s none of our business yet. The full Team Canada collection will be unveiled in April, so we must be patient and wait and count down during these cold, dark months. But if we can assume anything? Think streamlined, sporty, well-tailored — kind of like Dsquared2’s approach to their 1995-founded line: “Born in Canada, Living in London, Made in Italy.”

And soon: Worn in Rio. (You guys can totally take that line, BTW. Just think of me whenever you use it.)
