And do you know what? Good on her.
I mean, look. We've all had our opinions on Gwyneth Paltrow because for some reason we all feel entitled to have them, but let's just accept it: Gwyneth Paltrow doesn't care. And why should she? She's Gwyneth Paltrow. She doesn't need to care. She's busy being Gwyneth Paltrow. And that's exactly what she says to Red magazine, more or less.
"The older I get, I realize it doesn't matter what people who don't know you think," she said. "It doesn't matter."
"If your partner comes to you, or your best friend, and says, 'Listen, I want to talk about something you did that hurt me or I think you could improve,' sit down and listen what they have to say," she continued. "But some friend of so-and-sos, it's like, who gives a shit? That's why I really don't read anything. Because if it's important, it filters down to me."
And honestly, fair. Not to take what Ms. Paltrow says as gospel, but girlfriend has a point: who really cares? Who cares what people who don't know you think? Gwyneth Paltrow doesn't, and her life seems pretty great. And if we don't like it? Tough! She's still publishing Goop, and working with fashion designers, and being in movies. And no, I don't think I'd be friends with her (I mean, what would we talk about? I'm a True Poor), but she seems to like her life, and isn't having any of our feedback. Because really, who are we? (Well, we're all very important and awesome.)
All I'm saying is that Gwyneth Paltrow has a point. Focus on your own work, all of us.
