Since the infamous X-Factor turnover of earlier this year, Simon Cowell is on the hunt for two new female hosts. The women he’s seeking out? Reportedly, Janet Jackson and Britney Spears.
“There’s been a load of speculation, but nothing’s been confirmed,” said Cowell, adding that he’s more interested in who’d be interested in joining the show than focusing on the search.
If that’s the case, the X-Factor might be up one Britney Spears, since sources close to the star have reported that the singer is very interested in becoming a judge. Naturally, these “sources” are mysterious and unnamed, but Us Weekly reports that Britney Spears has “reached out” to Simon Cowell to replace Nicole Scherzinger and Paula Abdul.
But Britney Spears isn’t the only one “reaching out.” According to EW, LeAnn Rimes is following in Brit-Brit’s footsteps, whose own “sources” have claimed that the singer has thrown her name into the ring. Add Kelly Rowland to the rumours, and the X-Factor is sounding more and more like a show that we’d watch.
(But especially if Britney Spears is involved.)
