Lately, we’ve been all about Shiseido’s RevitalEssence Skin Glow Foundation. It makes getting our glow on less about the coverage and more about the effortlessness. You know, to look luminous, hydrated and alive.
Lightweight and serum-like in texture, the foundation’s formula glides on smoothly, diffusing a natural glow of colour that enhance rather than mask our skin. We like “Opal’s” balanced with a slight golden tone on our fair skin, but each of the line’s 30 fair to deep hues offer a soft, dewy and light finish, making every complexion look fresh and healthy. The foundation also provides buildable coverage, so whether we’re after a subtle boost or a polished, full-face look, it adapts beautifully without ever feeling heavy and cakey.
That’s because the formula is a skincare-meets-makeup marvel and is infused with high-powered ingredients, such as Niacinamide, a form of vitamin B, to help smooth and brighten our face and fermented kefir+, a prebiotic made from Japanese rice, to fuel our epidermis’ ability to maintain a healthy microbiome. It’s all captured in miniscule micro-capsules too, that burst to release both the active skincare ingredients and the makeup ones to create the healthy-looking glow we’re seeking.
But what we like best is that even after a full eight hours of wear, our skin still feels comfortable, never tight or dry, and looks luminous and touchable. Like it’s glowing from within.
Shiseido RevitalEssence Skin Glow Foundation in “Opal,” and 29 additional hues, $70 each, available at Holt Renfrew.
