Product Of The Week: Garnier Whole Blends Shampoo Bar

Never did we ever think we’d be lathering up with a bar of shampoo. But Garnier’s Whole Blends Shampoo Bars’ three solid options, “Coconut & Aloe Vera” for hydrating normal hair, “Oat Delicacy” for softening delicate hair and “Honey Treasures” for repairing and nourishing damaged hair have us rethinking the way we cleanse. And it is so not like the old days when our dad would rub a bar of Irish Spring soap across our heads.

With their 95 per cent plant-origin based, 100 per cent vegan and 94-plus per cent biodegradable formulas, these bars suds up beautifully while washing all the oil, dirt and grime from our hair. Plus, they’re crafted without a hint of a sulfates, silicone, preservatives, soap or dye, so all we’re left with is squeaky clean and manageable style. We opt for “Oat Delicacy” when we need to soften our look, pick up “Honey Treasure” after multiple swims in the pool have left our locks less than lustrous and, most frequently, lather on “ Coconut & Aloe Vera” when we need an extra hit of moisture.

Less fuss and zero waste, all we have to do is crack open the 100 per cent recyclable cardboard box, pull out our bar-of-the-moment and then, toss the box into the green bin before getting our hair wet. The bars last too, about two months to be exact, and take up way less space in our shower than our usual bottles and tubes. As far as our hair and the environment are concerned, it’s a win-win all-round.

Garnier Whole Blends Shampoo Bars, “Coconut & Aloe Vera,” “Oat Delicacy” and “Honey Treasures,” $6.99 each for 60 grams, available at Shoppers Drug Mart.
