We’re purists when it comes to our mascara. We like a straight wand, basic bristle-brush, black colour and a wet formulation that doesn’t bleed. Easy right? So when we find a mascara we like, we never waiver. Typically.
Recently, we’ve taken a detour with Fenty Beauty’s Full Frontal Volume Lift & Curl Mini Mascara in Limited Edition colour “Mi$$ Merlot.”
The tiny tube won us over. Not that we’ve never seen a pocket-sized mascara before, we have, many times. But the appeal of the smallness never gets old. It’s a good thing too, because otherwise we may not have applied the sultry, burgundy hue on our lashes. And liked it.
Just as defining as our favoured black shade, “Mi$$ Merlot’s” deeply intense, yet weirdly neutral colour makes our eyes pop. Plus, the product lived up to its Volume, Lift & Curl name, doing just that with every coat we layered on. It took us a minute to get a feel for the FAT/FLAT sided brush and worked best when we layered on the formula with the FAT and lifting side and then brushed through each set for lash definition and curl with the FLAT side. It stayed put too with a long-wear formula that’s not only 100 per cent cruelty free, but can also be built up for extra nighttime drama.
The “Mi$$ Merlot,” along with a forest green hue in “Ivy League” are limited edition shades though, so if you want to get yours on, move fast. As for the other purists out there, the mini mascara also comes in a fab true black colour, “Cuz I’m Black.”
