“Start each day with a fresh canvas.”
They’re not our words. It’s Collage’s M.O. The Canadian skincare company is all about fresh starts—one that begins with our face and ends with promoting inclusivity, celebrating aging and emphasizing sustainability. It’s the reason we initially picked up the brand’s Gesso Niacinamide Balm and rubbed it onto our face before we went to bed. But we’ve kept doing it because it works.
Powered by niacinamide, a multitasking vitamin B3 that improves elasticity and boosts glow, alongside hyaluronic acid for long-lasting hydration, Gesso leaves our skin feeling plump, balanced and incredibly soft. Rosehip oil works to regenerate it when it looks and feels tired (which is all the time lately), while green tea extract provides a protective antioxidant boost to help stave off damage from environmental stressors. A soothing trio of chamomile, lavender and witch hazel waters help reduce inflammation and redness, while aloe vera adds a cool, calming finish. The balm gently exfoliates too with white willow bark extract to promote a smoother texture while we sleep.
During the daytime, we partner it with the British Columbia-based brands’ Canvas, a hyaluronic acid serum and Composition, an active gel moisturizer for maximum nourishment and hydration. All three—Gesso included—contain zero synthetic fragrances, parabens, phthalates or mineral oils, perfect for our sensitive skin. Plus, our newbie favourite balm melts right into our epidermis (and not our bed sheets), sealing in moisture so that we wake up to healthier, more resilient skin. That’s our fresh canvas.
