We’re not crazy about body lotion. The texture can be sticky, greasy or tacky. Sometimes it creates a filmy layer on our skin and other times it just sits there never fully soaking in, leaving us a little damp. Plus, it takes time to rub it on all over and we’re lazy. So yeah, while we’re very aware that our skin is our body’s largest organ, we still only use lotions and cream when we’re desperate. And by desperate we mean when our skin is so dry and flaky we can’t stop scratching it.
That’s when we apply Aveeno’s Restorative Skin Therapy Itch Relief Balm because, well, we’re more particular about the itchy scratchy sensations going away than we are about keeping our low-key morning routine under the 10-minute mark.
The balm’s name pretty much sums up the core benefits of using the product, but we also like it because of it’s immediate impact on our skin—it eliminates dry, itching and tightness as soon as it’s slathered on. The ingredient pramoxine hydrochloride can be credited for our itch relief, but the formula also includes aloe, B5 and oats to soothe, heal and moisturize our sensitive skin. It’s also free of parabens, steroids, phthalates and fragrance so it’s extra gentle on the well-scratched parts of our legs and upper arms. We may not be crazy about moisturizing our skin on the regular, but we’re not crazy enough to give up a little extra hydration when our body needs it most.
