I don’t make resolutions no matter what time of the year it is, but I did promise myself that I would take better care of my hair. And not washing it for six days in a row and coating it with multiple layers of dry shampoo doesn’t count. This is actually a pretty big deal for me because I’m not fussed about using chemicals and happily slather, spritz and rub then anywhere, really. But considering I already add pro highlights to my hair about three or four times a year, I thought I’d try to balance things out with a feel-good, do-good shampoo and conditioner routine.
Arbonne’s True Daily Shampoo and Conditioner have been my first pick from the green aisle so far and I’m not disappointed.
Vegan and plant-based, this low-lather shampoo and lightweight conditioner doesn’t strip away my blonde highlights, plus it’s formula is packed with pea protein, sustainably sourced baobab and ashwagandha root which makes my hair look and feel soft, silky and shiny. There’s also a True Hair Daily Leave-In Treatment that’s silicone-free and helps lock in moisture so that my hair doesn’t frizz up and leave me looking like a dandelion on humid days. (Read: every day in Toronto!) All three hair care items are silicone, paraben and sulphate-free, so there’s that, plus they all have a fresh matcha green-tea scent. I also like how lightweight the tubes are because it makes it easy to throw them in my suitcase and take them with me wherever I go.
