We go through phases with our makeup. Mascara and brows are 365-perennial, but sometimes we add a touch of blush and other times a little lippie. Right now, we’re all about the eyeshadow. To be specific, About-Face’s Fractal Eye Paint (pictured above in ‘Smolder’).
The shimmer-loaded, mousse-like eyeshadow is super low maintenance to apply and wear. For starters, its sponge wand applicator is easy to swipe-on and, depending on how much time we have, can be smoothed across our lids with our fingertips or with an eyeshadow brush. (We’re fairly lazy, so we mostly use our fingertips.) The formula is 100 per cent vegan and cruelty-free and feels soft and silky thanks to marula oil with its soothing and hydrating properties. Antioxidant-rich, the formula also helps condition our eyelids’ skin, ensuring that the shadow’s shimmer stays radiant and comfortable, and never feels dry or tight.
The Eye Paint also boasts a lineup of 17 glittery shades. We’ve been gravitating towards “Smolder” for its pinky-pearl hue, but with options from “Disco Me’s” silvery holographic flecks and “Smash’s” copper-gold sunset-like appeal to “Freaked’s” iridescent lilac and “Fragile Ego’s” champagne shimmer, we’ll be branching out. Especially since each colour locks onto our eyelids for hours, ensuring we never have to worry about creasing, cracking or fading. They colours are buildable too, so we can layer on as much or as little as we like—a convenience we appreciate since it can easily take our daytime look through to dinner, after dinner drinks and beyond.
