German luxury fashion house MCM’s brand new eau de parfum Ultra has us spritzing on repeat. It’s just that good…and unique.
While the elixir is a mix of fruit, flowers, wood and spice it’s not your typical blend. Bold and modern, the vegan, green and sustainable fragrance wafts fresh energy and youthful confidence, making it an empowering perfume to wear. On first spritz, juicy black current, lush Pink Lady apple, tart Italian bergamot and spicy-sweet pink pepper merge to engage the senses, before being absorbed into a heady bouquet of jasmine and tuberose. “Lush jasmine and tuberose florals are contrasted with fougere elements, like tonka and moss,” adds Frank Voelkl, Ultra’s perfumer. He purposefully “weaved [the notes] together with the intention of delicate balance to create an unapologetic, full-of-attitude feminine signature.”
And so it is. It’s also just as chic to look at. Captured in the brand’s iconic Berlin Gold backpack, the flacon is as much a piece of art as it is a fashion staple.
