Celebrity Red Carpet Makeup Trends 2019

As award season comes to a close with the Oscars being handed out earlier this week, it’s time to look back at the hottest celebrity red carpet beauty trends that will, perhaps, dictate the makeup trends for the rest of the year. From pops of color to the love of pink, the beauty trends are getting bolder and bigger this year.

Pops of colour on the eyes
The ‘80s was famous for loud eye shadows that had heads turning. This year, we definitely saw bold shadows on the red carpet. From pink and gold to blue and green, the colors were popping and rocking. Lupita Nyong’o wore electric blue lashes and liner to create a color popping look at the Golden Globes. Mandy Moore opted for pale lilac on the lids and lips at the Critics Choice Awards. Lili Reinhart wore pops of burgundy/red on the lids at the Golden Globes. Camilla Belle went bold with a bright green shadow on her lids and under the eye for a dashing look.

For the love of pink
Many celebs infused pink, fuchsia and peach lip colors into their look. Katy Perry opted for pink shadow and pink lips at the Grammys while Yara Shahidi chose a palette of soft pink blush and shadow to go with her SAG Awards red carpet look. Emmy Rossum also wore soft pink shadow, blush and lips that matched her gown. Pink is certainly a celeb favorite at the red carpets this year. You can infuse the color either in your lip palette or on the lids. Even a dash of light blush goes along way.

Nude Look
At the SAG Awards, Constance Wu opted for a monochromatic taupe theme with a nude lip while Alison Brie also chose the same palette for her look. At the Golden Globes, Julia Roberts and Kristen Bell went for a nude beauty palette with hints of light pink on their cheek and lips. We sure don’t mind the nude and neutral themes.

Gloss much?
Janelle Monae opted for glossy lips with her bronzed cheeks and shimmery gold shadow at the Golden Globes. Heidi Klum opted for a nude look at the Grammys along with a sheer glossy lip. Jennifer Lopez wore a glossy nude lip at the Oscars that looked gorgeous. Looks like gloss is back for good.

Winged eyeliner
The beloved winged eyeliners or cat eye liners are not going anywhere. Gemma Chan sported a winged liner at the Oscars while Miley Cyrus kept her look minimal with winged eyeliner at the Grammys. At the SAGs, Sophia Bush gave a spin on the eye liner with a colored under liner that we are loving.

Bright lip
The electric orange lips worn by Julia Garner at the SAG Awards is proof that  bright and vibrant lip colors are certainly hot this year. Even show-stopping red lips still pack a punch as seen by Olivia Munn’s look at the Critics Choice awards.
