These days it seems like there is never enough time to get things done. Whether it be due to the demanding job, trying to squeeze in time for your boyfriend or simply attempting to get that extra 20 minutes sleep in the morning. You don’t need to spend hours on your face. Here is your quick guide to getting glammed up in a hurry.
This ladies, is how to get the perfect 5 minute face.
Organization. The first step is staying organized. There is nothing worse than not being able to find your favourite lip gloss when you are already running late. Make your mornings easy and ensure that all your necessities are in a convenient area and organized.
Moisturizer. The must-have product for a 5 minute face is a tinted moisturizer (with SPF). It acts like a foundation and a moisturizer saving minutes in your morning. Apply it on smoothly with your fingers or sponge and don’t forget your eyelids!
Concealer. Under-eye concealer is pretty much a godsend when it comes to the 5 minute face. Especially great after an impromptu night out leaves you running on little to no sleep, the under-eye concealer helps eliminate the look of bags and wrinkles. Sweep some right under your lid and blend it in. Don’t go overboard though because a little goes a long way with concealer. If you have a few blemishes lingering here or there, also think about using a spot concealer over your foundation that will help get rid of any red spots and hide unsightly pimples.
Powder. The next step in the 5 minute face is the powder. Powder is a very understated product in the makeup world and not everyone seems to understand how great and useful it really is. A translucent powder works best (and you won’t have to switch colors for your tan summer skin). Use a nice big powder brush to sweep it all over your face. Don’t forget about your T-zone (forehead and nose) as that seems to carry the most shine. This will give you a nice matted finish and hold all your makeup together.
Eyeliner. Eyeliner is always a must have for any 5 minute face. A brown pencil works best and just create a thin line from your inner to outer upper eyelid. Take the pencil across a couple of times to make sure you get right into the roots. Use a cotton swab or eyeshadow brush to smudge the eyeliner and create a softer look.
Blush. Apply a light pink blush to the apples of your cheek. For a nice natural look, use a big powder brush instead of a blusher brush to even out the lines. This will give your cheeks a little color while still keeping with the natural look.
Mascara. Sweep some mascara on the top lashes. Make sure the brush starts right at the roots and sweeps in and upward motion to really open up your eyes.
Lip Colour. No 5 minute face is complete without a little lip action. Shade your lips in a nice light colour (I like nudes and pinks for the day). I prefer lip gloss or a tinted lip balm while I’m on the go.
There you have it ladies, there are no more excuses! Here is your wonderful 5 minute face guide. Maybe once you become a pro, you can get the whole look down to a mere 4 minutes and 48 seconds!
