Fashion week is about the runway shows, but the street style and what people wear to those very important shows is slowly over-shadowing the designer collections. But, we’re not complaining, because at the end of the day, it is all fashion! And there is no better style inspiration, than seeing a trend on a real person, not that models are not real people, but… you understand what we’re trying to say.
Here are a few of the street style trends that stood out at this past New York Fashion Week:
Shoulders
First, when we saw Leandra Medine (Man Repeller) in this look, in person, we were floored at how stunning she was. Turning heads would be an understatement, people literally stopped and stared. It wasn’t just Medine, we saw many fashion bloggers showing shoulder.

Sneakers
Mommy-to-be Eva Chen wore her Nike sneakers to the Diane von Furstenberg SS 2014 runway show and we love that! Heck, having to wear painful sky-high heels all fashion week is bound to make a pair of kicks seem like the best and only option. Chen wasn’t alone, street-style guru, Miroslava Duma rocked Converse to Jason Wu.

Fringe
Fringe bags, fringe shoes, fringe skirts… it was everywhere. We loved how Olivia rocked her suede fringe Michael Kors skirt with a neutral, monotone colour palette of all beige. Her simple hair and makeup made the entire look effortlessly-chic.
