Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are in talks to join the cast of The Counselor. The film is based on a novel by Cormac McCarthy about a lawyer who finds himself in the midst of a drug-trafficking scheme.
The last time Jolie and PItt were cast in a movie together was in 2005 for Mr. and Mrs. Smith. Rumor has it that the couple began seeing each other while filming the movie, and while Pitt was still married to Jennifer Aniston. With that kind of track record, who knows that kind of drama will take place between the two on set of another movie.
Pitt has previously said that he would love to work with his longtime partner again. Plus, he says, it would just make sense when it comes to taking care of their six children. The pair ensure only one is working at a time so that the other is free to take care of their kids.
“We should be doing [movies] together,” he said. “We should be doing everything together, and then we could work less. We could have more time off¦We work really well together.”
The Counselor is being directed by Ridley Scott. Michael Fassbender had already signed-on for the lead role and they are in talks with Javier Bardem to also star in the movie. Production is scheduled to begin this summer in Europe.
