Demi Moore is Not Changing her Twitter Name

When Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher announced their divorce, I found it odd that so many people were concerned with Demi’s Twitter handle, @MrsKutcher. It seems that the actress has been getting quite a bit of attention for it lately, and wanted to let everyone know that the @MrsKutcher name is here to stay, at least for now.

“Changing my twitter name isn’t a top priority right now,” Demi tweeted on Wednesday morning. “Sorry it bothers so many of [you]. Should I not tweet until I do? Does it really matter?”

Social media played a large part in Demi and Ashton’s marriage, as it did in their divorce. Amidst rumors that the couple was spitting up, Demi and Ashton had an on-again, off-again relationship on Twitter, seemingly following and unfollowing each other based on the status of their relationship.

The six year marriage ended when Demi filed for divorce last month, after rumours of Ashton’s incessant cheating. She also cited constant fighting in the papers.

As a woman, a mother and a wife there are certain values and vows that I hold sacred, and it is in this spirit that I have chosen to move forward with my life, Demi said in a statement announcing the divorce.

Since then, Ashton (@aplusk) has given over reigns of his Twitter account to his management after an unfortunate incident where Ashton found his foot in his mouth.
