Twenty years after the original defined a generation of fashion films, The Devil Wears Prada 2 has finally arrived—and it’s already making noise at the box office. The long-awaited sequel debuted to an impressive $77 million across the U.S. and Canada and a massive $233.6 million worldwide, making it one of the largest theatrical debuts of 2026.

The sequel again hails from director David Frankel and screenwriter Aline Brosh McKenna, who back in 2006 adapted Lauren Weisberger’s novel The Devil Wears Prada (based on her actual experience of working at Vogue magazine under Anna Wintour). The film marks the return of Meryl Streep as the formidable Miranda Priestly, alongside Anne Hathaway’s Andi Sachs, Emily Blunt’s razor-sharp Emily Charlton, and Stanley Tucci as Nigel Kipling. And while the all-star core cast alone is enough to draw crowds, the long-awaited sequel doesn’t stop there.

As expected, the Runway universe expands with a parade of familiar faces. You may have already heard that Conrad Ricamora, Sydney Sweeney, and Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour filmed cameo appearances that were ultimately cut from the film film.
