Product Of The Week: James Read H2O Illuminating Tan Mist

There’s something about having a tan that has always made me feel thinner, sexier, healthier. I know I’m opening up the floodgates with this one. Some will argue that gaining self-esteem from reading The Choiceby the Arbinger Institute (read it earlier this year), getting a post-secondary education (check and check again) and helping others through charity (my 9-5) is a better way to go. I’m not disputing that. But there’s something equally powerful about feeling pretty. Ask Amy Schumer.

The catch is that tanning is passé and wearing SPF is cool, making getting your glow on the natural way a bit of an impossible and very unhealthy task. Especially when you’re over looking like a shimmering Casper on Puerta Vallarta’s beaches and I am. Spraying on James Read H2O Illuminating Tan Mist has been my game changer.

I don’t like getting pro spray on tans. Something about standing naked in the booth waiting for the bronze-hued liquid to mist all over my body always conjures images of Ross from Friends and his half tanned, half white mishap. And some DIY versions don’t always have the nicest scent so finding the right blens has been a bit of a trial and error process. I don’t have that issue with this product. Its formulation is organic, infused with rose water so it smells fresh, plus the sparkling dusting of 24K gold allows me to build my tan gradually. It’s easy too and dries quickly so I’m not hanging around my hotel room waiting to dry before I pull on my one piece. And having a portable tan in a bottle to spray on in the privacy of my beach vacay bathroom is great. I can control how bronze I go before I head out to the palm trees to flop on my towel and read Victor Antonio’s The Greatest Gift.
