Juicy Couture is Back, My Friends (Can You Even Deal?)

Once upon a time, the only thing I wanted in the world was a Juicy Couture tracksuit. Of course, I never got it because I was a teenager with a part-time job and not nearly enough money, so by the time I could actually afford one, I would rather have burned it alongside my Von Dutch hat (which I did splurge on, thank you very much).

However, our early 2000s dreams are being realized thanks to Juicy Couture’s comeback collection which will be fronted by — dramatic drumroll, please — Tinashe. (Bless us everyone.)

The brand is making a capsule collection for Urban Outfitters and Tinashe announced on Instagram that she’ll be the face of it.

Excited to announce I am the new face of @urbanoutfitters @juicycouture 🙌🏽❤

According to Teen Vogue, Petra Collins photographed the campaign, and the collection will consist of 14 pieces, ranging from $39 to $199 USD. It’ll be available as of February 13, and will include everything from those signature suits to a short-sleeved t-shirt to bandeau bras to rompers.

“The Juicy customer looks to Urban Outfitters for the latest fashion direction, making it a perfect partner for the brand,” said Nick Woodhouse, president and chief marketing officer of ABG, which owns Juicy Couture.

Joanna Elwig, global executive creative director, brand imagery and marketing, chimed in.

“Urban Outfitters has found great success in our collaborations with brands that are embracing the nostalgia factor,” she said. “The Juicy Couture for Urban Outfitters collection allows us to curate the iconic tracksuit style of the early Aughts for today’s customer and we think Tinashe is the perfect face to introduce the collection to a new generation.”

In other news: I feel one thousand years old.

Also: I would like the Von Dutch hat I left at Steph’s house, the friend I made when I worked with her at The Keg for 10 months between 2003 and 2004. I never felt cooler than I did when wearing that hat with my aviator sunglasses, which accompanied my repeated offerings of the classic line, “That’s hot.”

Which, for the record, I’ve also been trying to bring back. (Join me.)
