How to Travel Solo in Paris

Travelling to Paris alone might be something you've always wanted to do. Or maybe it's your only option. Corralling your friends into a girls' vacation simply can be difficult, and your partner's work schedule is out of whack. Things like weddings, honeymoons, work life and cash and, sorry to say, a difficult pal can get in the way. TBH, walking the streets of Paris, without having a girlfriend complain about jet lag, the price of the Euro or whatever, is pretty sweet. (Although shopping the sales at Galeries Lafayette with the right friend or strolling along Parisian streets hand-in-hand with my love are pretty good, too.) A glass of wine, or two

When you’re travelling alone you have to be choosy about where you drink. To avoid the meat markets and dives, we recommend the bar and patio at Providence, which is also a hotel and restaurant. The floral wallpaper and Louis carved furniture will have you swooning. And the friendly and dapper bar staff will keep your drink filled and casually chat with you. The locals say it is authentically French, and if you check it out on Instagram you’ll see why. It’s polished, pretty and posh. The menu changes frequently, I’m told, as the menu online wasn’t available when I was there. But do order a bite, as everything I tried was delicious. It’s owned by Paris restaurateur Pierre Moussié, who has had his name on pretty much anywhere that is the place to eat in Paris.

Her delish crêpes and galettes are all made from organic and local ingredients. Aside from the Instagram-worthy décor and patio, the setup is very fitting for a single diner with its high-top tables. The absolute best part? It’s on Rue St.
