Summer Dressing Tips from a Pro

What will you be your summer style? We asked LOFT’s Style Director Amanda Kraemer for some advice on how to pull off a flawless warm-weather wardrobe. Here’s what she had to say:

29: What tips do you have for staying on trend in the summer, while still being office-appropriate?

AK: It’s all about balance, proportion and fabric. If you are dying to wear your new patterned skirt, dress it up a bit with a silk button-up top.

29: What is your summer work wardrobe?

AK: I tend to stick to classics “ rotating white tops with different skirts and bottoms in neutrals, while adding in a punch of colours in accessories.

29: This summer, what key piece should we all have in our wardrobes?

AK: A skirt that you love. They come in all lengths, colours and patterns “ they are really the easiest thing to wear and flatter everyone. This summer, LOFT has everything from pencil skirts with fresh tropical prints to comfortable jersey maxis.

29: What is the most versatile piece of clothing in your closet?

AK: My LOFT denim jacket. It can be layered in the winter and tossed over a summer dress in the warmer months.

29: What brand new trend should we all be adopting this season?

AK: The midi skirt. The length works well paired with a strappy flat sandal (all I want to wear this summer!)

29: Based on what you’ve experienced as a Style Director at LOFT, how do you choose an iconic look to represent the brand each season?

AK: I always start with the LOFT brand identity: we create feminine, effortless clothing and we’re dedicated to helping women feel confident. I also work closely with our Design team to learn their inspirations for the season.
