Award-Worthy Looks on the Met Gala 2016 Red Carpet

The Met Gala is arguably one of the year’s most exciting nights in fashion. This year the capital A-list celebrities, fashion elite and New York’s high and mighty all sauntered down the first ever televised Met Gala 2016 red carpet.

This red carpet is unlike most others you see on TV because us lowly normals don’t get to even peek at what goes on after everyone with the coveted invite goes inside. There are no awards given out, no movie to hear about, not even a selfie to be insta’d.

The theme this year, Manus x Machina: Fashion in an Age of Technology delivered a wide range of flowing gowns, glittering jumpsuits and futuristic gothic grunge.

Since we couldn’t even live vicariously through social media once the red carpet ends, here are some makeshift awards to make you feel better about being at home in your sweats last night.

Click through to see what we deemed award-worthy.
