10 Spring Trends You Need to Buy Right Now

How do you deal with the frigid temperatures of winter? We know a few people who will hibernate like grizzly bears the entire season only to rear their heads at the first thaw of spring. Others will venture to sunny destinations where white sandy beaches replace four foot high piles of snow. And then there are those of us who like a combination of hibernation, travel and fashion to keep us warm a cozy until spring has sprung.

How does fashion keeps us cozy when the weather in our fair city is colder than Whitehorse, Yukon, you ask? Well, that’s easy! We fantasize about shopping for clothes and accessories, and then wearing them out and about in the spring, because there’s nothing more powerful than the mind and positive thinking to get us through the winter month. For example, during the spring 2015 runway shows cropped pants were found all over the runway, from New York to Milan, and is this season’s hottest trend. We found the perfect pair of grey, high-waisted cropped trousers from GAP you’ll want to wear both in and out of the office when thing heat up.

Ladies who love patterns and bright colours will go gaga for Gingham. No longer restricted to the farm, the checkered print has been elevated to epic levels of chic thanks to designers such as Michael Kors and Joseph Altuzarra. However, if you don’t have the budget to afford big name brands, then check out the show-stopping, blue and white gingham dress from ASOS that will turn heads and make tongues wag. On the other hand, for something more subdued the army trend is a stealthy and timelines choice; the utilitarian style with its green hues, belts and buckles always makes for a good fashion choice.

Just when you think we were done fantasizing about fashions for spring, wait until you get a load of this season’s shoes. Imagine donning a pair of kick ass, all white Nike Air Force 1 sneakers while walking your dog for a leisurely mid-morning stroll. How about pairing knee-high, black gladiator or rose gold colour sandals with your favourite midi-skirt when out for weekend brunch with the girls? Oh yes, we can see the vision clearly now.

In the accessories department cross body handbags are back again but with a twist; fringe will amp up the cool factor of any basic black bag and the hot number we found from Aritzia will be your new go-to piece. Oh, and don’t forget to add a touch a bling to your spring outfit with a collar.  Sleek choker style necklaces adorned models walking the Balmain and Jason Wu shows, and definitely something you want to invest in this coming season.
