Your Facebook newsfeed may have seen a recently increase in relationship status changes, as winter moves out and spring begins. How do the seasons relate to our dating lives? It is simple, as the frost melts and your scarf and mitts get packed away, we are no longer trapped inside, left to cuddle with the nearest person for warmth.
The hotter the weather, the more we socialize and the fuller our event calendar becomes. Some people choose to be single for the spring, to allow themselves some freedom.
If you are in a happy relationship, it wouldn’t make much sense to throw in the towel just because bikinis and shorts have hit the store racks, but don’t be surprised if your couple’s night turns into single’s night. Show your man why he doesn’t need to be single for spring; it is always a good time to spice things up.
If you are single, this is the perfect time to mingle. Your options have never been wider. But, beware of the Summer Fling. Many people use this time of the year to play the field. If you are looking for something serious, unless you are one of the lucky ones, wait until autumn!
Are you a victim of the breakup season? Feel good knowing you are not the only one. You are likely to find another victim, a happy rebound, who you can vent to. And if you did the breaking, bask in your newfound freedom. Take some time to focus on yourself. Your previous relationship didn’t hold up because it wasn’t right for you. Learning what you want and need will help you get full force back into the dating game come fall.
