Model and influencer Nara Smith is queen of the kitchen on TikTok, and she proved it once again when she whipped up a Marc Jacobs tote bag from scratch. Well, that’s the joke at least. In a genius new Marc Jacobs campaign, Smith – who is known for her intricate cooking videos and what some have dubbed “trad wife content”— is seen in her kitchen whipping up a “delicious red Marc Jacobs tote bag.”
In the 42-second video, Smith mixes together flour, eggs, water, and red food colouring, and starts kneading the red dough with her hands before flattening it with a rolling pin until it magically forms into a tiny tote bag. After an hour in the oven, she declares in her signature monotone voiceover that it is “perfectly risen and red” and ready to eat. Or, in this case, ready to wear and she slings the fully formed Marc Jacobs tote bag on her shoulder.
“It tasted so much better than a shop-bought tote bag. This one really hits the spot,” she says in her famous whispered tone, posing for the camera.

“The Tote Bag, made from scratch by @Nara Smith,” Marc Jacobs captioned the TikTok video, which has already been viewed more than two million times in less than 24 hours. In the comments section, fans described the viral TikTok video campaign as the “collab of the century” and applauded the luxury fashion house for its cheeky online marketing strategy.
The leather tote bag is available now on MarcJacobs.com, and comes in a variety of sizes, ranging in price from $325 to $450 USD. There’s also a tote bag charm (the tiny tote bag from Smith’s video) that retails for $125 USD.
Smith — who is married to model Lucky Blue Smith — has racked up over 8 million followers with her elaborate cooking videos on TikTok, where she painstakingly makes peanut-butter-and-jelly sandwiches, pizza, and doughnuts from scratch. More recently Smith has tackled making Coke, sunscreen, and even chewing gum from scratch.
Is there anything Smith can’t whip up herself in her kitchen, dressed in a designer gown with her hair and makeup fully done?
