Heidi Montag's Album Finally Reaches No. 1 After Losing Pacific Palisades Home...15 Years After Release

Heidi Montag’s 2010 record “Superficial” is now No. 1 on iTunes after her husband, Spencer Pratt, asked fans to stream the album to help generate income after their Pacific Palisades house burned down in the Los Angeles wildfires.

On Friday, Pratt posted a series of photos to TikTok of him posing in front of his destroyed home with the caption, “Please stream any of [Heidi Montag’s] music on any platforms it will make a huge difference.”

After Pratt’s post fans stepped up and began streaming Montag’s music as a way to help get the reality stars get back on their feet after the loss of their Pacific Palisades property. As “Superficial” began climbing the charts, Pratt began to update his followers on social media adding to the excitement. Then, with a little help from celebrities like Flava Flav and Emily Ratajkowski, who helped encourage the movement, “Superficial” reached No.1 on iTunes on Saturday, passing the Wicked soundtrack and Bad Bunny’s “Debí Tirar Más Fotos.”

Despite working with the best of the best in the music industry, “Superficial” only sold a reported 1,000 copies when it was released on January 11, 2010. In an emotional video posted to TikTok, Pratt explained the significance of his wife’s music, sharing: “We spent all of our money on this album. […] Every dollar we made from The Hills, we put into this album.”

Pratt also posted a video to Instagram shortly after celebrating the achievement.

“Popstar Heidi Montag No. 1 on iTunes America,” Pratt said. “Thank you everyone! Who needs a house, who needs clothes, who needs anything but this level of clout, pop, superstardom? Our sons are gonna be like, ‘My mom was No. 1 on iTunes America.’ Thank you to everyone who made this happen.”

On Saturday, Montag also thanked listeners on her Instagram Story, gushing: “Thank you so much to everyone. No. 1 on iTunes chart, oh my gosh. Thank you for the overwhelming love and support of my music and really rallying behind us in this devastating time and making it such a blessing.”

“Thank you for helping support us, helping build us back up, helping to encourage us, give us that hope and faith and excitement in such a dark, dark time. No. 1, ahhh! Oh my gosh, I can’t believe it. And it’s the 15th anniversary of Superficial. So, the timing is just crazy. It’s so crazy, thank you…”

Now that they’ve conquered the iTunes charts, Pratt and Montag are moving on to Billboard. In a follow-up post on TikTok, Pratt urged anyone “who owns a radio station or knows a radio station” to plug “Superficial” in order to help their chances.

“We need radio play, I guess, not just iTunes to get No. 1 on Billboard charts, which is the ultimate goal,” Pratt said. “Cause then it’s like, that a wrap, Heidi is the biggest superstar in the world.”
