Reese Witherspoon has joined the celebrity lifestyle website game with Draper James, an online magazine dedicated to Southern hospitality.
I started this company to honour my Southern heritage and in particular my grandparents who were, and still are, the greatest influences in my life: my grandmother Dorothea Draper and my grandfather, William James Witherspoon, the actress writes on the recently launched website. My grandparents taught me everything I know about gracious Southern living. From them I learned to dress and act like a lady, to take pride in my home, to reach out to a neighbour, and to always invite everyone in for a visit.
Witherspoon goes on to talk about her grandmother’s impeccable style and her grandfather’s undeniable charm.
The retail portion of the website includes fashion, accessories and home decor items. There is also an editorial section where Witherspoon shares her own lifestyle advice.
I created Draper James to honor my past and allow others to embrace the beauty, style, and excitement that embodies what is happening in the South today, she said in a statement.
Witherspoon will also be working with select artists from the South for proprietary items to add to the online retail space. Draper and James will also be moving outside of the digital world with a brick-and-mortar shop expected to open this fall in Nashville.
