Opening Ceremony usually has its ground to the ear in terms of what’s about to be big, so while “Spring Breakers” might be one of the most controversial films of the year so far, nobody should be surprised of its newfound fashion clout.
Correct: Opening Ceremony is joining forces with “Spring Breakers” to launch an exclusive line of summerwear which, according to WWD, will feature unisex sweatshirts, mesh jerseys, jogging pants, cropped t-shirts, bikinis, backpacks, and beach towels. (So you, too, can dress like Selena Gomez and Vanessa Hudgeons!)
However, it’s not like the pieces are going to be in solid tones or work-appropriate prints: certain styles will be adorned with pot leaves, dripping ice cream cones, and the acronym “DTF,” which, because we are adults, know what that means. The pieces were created with the movie’s costume designers, Heidi Bivens and New York artist Todd James (aka REAS), and will be available via Opening Ceremony e-commerce site and New York and L.A. boutiques.
