It's been a big week for Swarovski: in addition to launching their Romeo and Juliet line (15 pieces that reflect the film's "romantic essence"), they've announced Miranda Kerr as the face of their upcoming line.
Shot by Nick Knight and orchestrated by Ronnie Cooke Newhouse of Home & Home, the campaign will launch this autumn (which makes sense since it's a Fall 2013 collection), and evokes a very "English countryside" feel — particularly thanks to the English roses that accompany the model in each photo and the commercial. However, we in Canada will be deprived of the commercial: to be shown in Italy, France, and Hong Kong, we North Americans won't be privy to seeing Miranda Kerr in jewels while accompanyed by a soundtrack composed and performed by — wait for it — Pharrell Williams.
"We are thrilled to once again work with creative forces Ronnie Cooke Newhouse and Nick Knight for our new campaign," said Nadia Swarovski, member of the Swarovski executive board. "Nick's garden roses, and Miranda's freshness, beauty, and glamour beautifully complement and enhance Swarovski's modern jewels."
Ronnie Cooke Newhouse agrees.
"Mix Miranda Kerr with home-grown English garden roses, Swarovski jewellery, Nick Knight photography . . . and you get beauty, warmth, coolness, and desirability," he said. "Things we love."
Alright, everyone. Time to deck ourselves out in Miranda Kerr-sanctioned jewels and head to Romeo and Juliet. Get psyched!
