Lauren Conrad’s Show Pulled from MTV

If you’re waiting on Lauren Conrad’s new reality series, don’t hold your breath: the former Hills star has revealed that the show has been pulled from MTV.

In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the-designer-formerly-known-as-LC claimed “we sold a show to MTV, filmed it and are really proud of the final result. MTV felt the subject matter was too high brow for their audience and offered me the opportunity to change the show by incorporating more of my personal life.

“We agreed going into the project that his show would be an aspirational one, focusing on my career and my goals and not my personal relationships. We delivered the show that we sold and are sorry MTV didn’t feel their viewers were savvy enough to appreciate it.”

Yikes. Despite her amicable phrasing, you can’t help but think she was tempted to make a Jersey Shore dig at some point. And although MTV did comment, claiming “it was a great attempt, but it just didn’t feel like a perfect fit for now”, you also have to wonder whether what they really wanted was something along the lines of Spencer and Heidi: the Saga Continues.

But the real question of the hour remains: if MTV’s kiboshed the already-completed series, what network will pick it up? Because if Kell on Earth is any inclination, us ladies love shows about hard-working power women who’ve got a thing or two to prove.
