It’s been a hell of a year for fashionable nuptials. Doutzen Kroes and Miranda Kerr both got married (and have already hopped on the baby train), while Petra Nemcova got engaged last month. Let’s not forget everyone’s favourite royal couple.
Now, it’s Kate Moss’s turn. The Kills guitarist Jamie Hince popped the question Tuesday night in bed, said Britain’s Sun.
Apparently the ring is 1920s vintage, and Hince even asked her parents for permission. Aww.
Moss was seen wearing a ring on her engagement finger (if that’s the one, the vintage rumours look true) yesterday while she and Hince had lunch at Claridge’s.
Neither Moss nor a rep has confirmed it, but there’s a definite indication that they’re planning to officially announce it soon.
We are making no comment, a spokesperson from Storm Models told British Vogue. That may change later in the day, but at the moment there is no comment.
Sun also reported that the couple has chosen July 2 for their wedding date, with Moss’s daughter Lila Grace as chief bridesmaid. Moss had eight-year-old Lila with her ex, magazine publisher Jefferson Hack.
Moss has reportedly joked that she’ll be the most famous Kate to wed in 2011. It’d be tough to edge out Middleton, but Moss’s reception is sure to be nothing short of regal. Topshop tycoon Sir Philip Green is also said to be planning a lavish celebration for the couple.
Moss and Hince were introduced by mutual friend Sadie Frost backstage at one of The Kills’s concerts in September 2007.
There are a lot of questions still up in the air, but we’ll have to wait for one of the most obvious before speculation starts bubbling up: what will the fashion icon wear?
