Fun fact: it’s also the title of Aerosmith’s 1993 “Livin’ on the Edge” album—you can pull that trivia out the next time there’s a drop in the conversation when you’re chatting up Uncle Bill at the next family event.
For us though, we like Quo Beauty’s embodiment of the expression the best: Mega Grip. It’s Shoppers Drug Mart’s beauty brand’s primer and a new staple in our daily routine.
Made to wear over top of our face lotion and before we apply our makeup, the primer’s gripping power helps keep every stroke of blush, puff of powder, swipe of foundation, drop of bronzer and more stay in place all day. Crafted with white tremella mushroom extract, the formula is nourishing and hydrating. An infusion of niacinamide helps revitalize and soothe our often tired looking and irritated-feeling skin, while the lightweight jelly-like texture looks soft and natural once we smooth it on.
We like to use a pea-sized dollop and spread it all over, from our forehead to our chin, and then let it set for about 30 seconds before we start applying our makeup. Once in a while, we even dab a tiny bit onto our eyelids before creating a smoky eye. Using Mega Grip has been a game-changer for days spent in the sun too, as it helps keep our layers of blush (we’re all about that right now) from melting down our cheeks.
