Product Of The Week: Paume Renewing Hand Serum

No one likes aging. Well, the life experience and better choices part—like, knowing to not wear an aggressive layer of florescent pink blush in a semi-circle around our eyes or to pluck our eyebrows into the Angry Bird-shaped eyebrow trend—are pretty great. But the dry, fine lines on our weather-worn hands? That’s something else.

So is Paume’s Renewing Hand Serum. It’s unlike any hand moisturizer we’ve ever used because after rubbing a pea-sized dollop on once, we knew it was a keeper.

The serum is light, has a fresh scent and smooths on easily. It absorbs quickly too, although admittedly the palms of our hands feel a bit sticky for about five seconds until it soaks in—the skin on our palms is thicker than the skin on the backs of our hands so it absorbs product slower. But just do a 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 countdown while you wait, because that’s when the good things happen.

The formula’s inclusion of hyaluronic acid instantly hydrates our skin and plumps it up. Bukochiol extract, a gentler and natural alternative to retinol, smooths and evens out our skin’s texture immediately. What you’ll have to wait about three days of regular use to see are the benefits of the formula’s vitamin C and gallic acid: they make the skin on our hands looks brighter and the pesky darker spot from our younger days (when we didn’t wear sunscreen 365), is now less visible.

It won’t all wash down the drain either; Paume’s Renewing Hand Serum’s positive impact is long lasting and real. We just need to convince them to make an equivalent for our face…

Paume Renewing Hand Serum, $52 for 60 ml, available online at www.mypaume.ca.
