At first, the one-size-fits-all stick of makeup appealed to my lazy-girl side. I can never resist a no-fuss, no-muss, no-brushes-required approach to applying makeup. So when swiping the sheer pop of baby pink colour all over my cheeks, eyes and lips cut my glam time in half I was sold. Then, I got sucked in by its creamy, luminous texture.
Crafted from organic seed oils and butters (sunflower, castor, sesame, cocoa and shea) and avocado oil with candelilla, orange peel and bees wax, the Multi-Stick glides on easily and stays put. Its no-makeup makeup effect is also super on trend. Just ask Demi Lovato and Chrissy Teigen. Or better yet Christina Aguilera, whose fresh-faced debut on the cover of Papermagazine sent fans into a Twitter frenzy earlier this year. But I totally get the hype. The Multi-Stick is like makeup’s equivalent to K-beauty’s sheet mask. The all-in-one leaves skin refreshed and dewy looking, bright eyed, full lipped and glossy cheeked and with practically zero effort. And then there are the compliments.
Never in my life have I had more people tell me I’m glowing, how I look super healthy or that I look so young. I’d like to say it’s my DNA, but before my head completely swells and explodes, let me give props to my favourite colour. While Ilia’s Multi-Sticks’ roster of pretty hues that range from plum to peach work on a whole lot of skin tones, the “Tenderly” shade works on just about everyone, including my pinkish-white complexion. And a swipe blended onto the apples of my cheeks or beneath my cheekbones always deliver a healthy, vibrant flush with no other makeup required.
