Facial cleansing balms are so satisfying. Smoothing the thick texture on, as it melts across our skin is not only a luxurious feeling, but it’s also mess free. So, when skincare brand Elemis launched their Pro-Collagen Green Fig Cleansing Balm, you know we had to try it.
A multi-tasker, the cleanser’s formula started as a rich balm that liquified into an oil as it was massaged onto our skin. Then, it transformed again, but into a hydrating milk upon contact with water. This evolution allowed the formula to deeply cleanse our face, dissolving our makeup, removing dirt, oil and grime and nourishing our skin.
Packed with powerful botanicals, the formula’s felt gentle and soothing. Its inclusion of starflower oil, rich in gamma linolenic acid and grown and pressed in the UK, helped to soften and improve our skin’s firmness. Elderberry oil’s essential fatty acids and antioxidants promoted a radiant complexion. Optimega oil, a blend of wheatgerm and oat oils, reduced transepidermal water loss to keep our skin smooth and hydrated, while padina pavonica, a Mediterranean brown algae, deeply quenched our skin, enhancing its natural glow. And the bonus: for days when we want a little extra, we leave the balm on for 10 to 15 minutes, as it can double as a facial mask, leaving our complexion ultra soft, hydrated and radiant.
It smells incredible too. With its sensorial Mediterranean vibes, notes of fresh raspberry and bergamot waft an uplifting citrus burst. Warm fig and coconut give a sense of warmth and comfort, and notes of sandalwood and cedarwood add a grounding, earthy finish.
Elemis Pro-Collagen Green Fig Cleansing Balm $93 for 100 g, available at Sephora.
