Blake Lively is the latest celebrity to get into the lifestyle industry. The actress will be launching her own version of Goop (Gwyneth Paltrow's website), called Preserve. The website will have a focus on products selected by Lively herself, many of which will be hand-made or one-of-a-kind. These items will be available for purchase through Preserve. Lively will also star in various videos.
"The main element of it is that it's about storytelling and it's about living a very one-of-a-kind, curated life, and how to achieve that," Lively told Vogue UK in 2013. "There's nothing like it out there — it's without a genre. I have so many passions outside of acting and things that I grew up being good at and that I don't utilize when acting."
Lively also revealed that she is purposefully being vague about what to expect from Preserve, which is a brand that has been in the works for two years.
So far, I haven't been much of a fan of celebrities lifestyle websites, especially since they often involve trying to get readers to shell out large amounts of cash for sometimes not-so-great products. I also have many questions about Preserve — What will it be preserving? What is her definition of a one-of-a-kind life? Why do I need a curated life? If the website will include style and hair tips from Lively, I'm all for it (that girl always slays the red carpet).
All these questions will be answered when Preserve launches sometime next week.
