3. Afternoon casual (part two)
Katie Holmes loves denim, and the sooner we make peace with that, the sooner we can learn to channel her casual, seemingly effortless style. While at first it looks like she paired a short-sleeve denim button-up with faded, boyfriend jeans, a closer inspection sees she’s simply embraced one of the year’s biggest shade: grey. And while she comes off slightly monochromatic, the different fabrics prevent her from seeming one-dimensional. Just make sure that if you pair denim-on-denim, you avoid pairing two similar tones together since it could come off like a uniform.
