And because who doesn’t have their own fragrance if they’re a celebrity, Taylor Swift is launching “Wonderstruck”, a perfume based on a lyric in “Enchanted” (which, if you’re not a big T-Swift aficionado, is a jam about the first time you meet someone).
Partnering with Elizabeth Arden, the teen sensation explained that she dubbed the scent Wonderstruck because “a fragrance can help shape someone’s first impression and memory of you”, and is excited to “think that Wonderstruck will play a role in creating some of those memories”.
The perfume consists of top notes of freesia, apple blossom and raspberry, middle notes of hibiscus and honeysuckle, and base notes of vanilla and amber – which may rival J-Biebs in terms of the teen scent-buying demographic.
Swift told Women’s Wear Daily that “falling in love is a moment every girl daydreams about and Wonderstruck represents that magical feeling of promise and hope and intrigue” (cue: us older folk and our “aw, she’s so young!” commentary), while revealing “it was fascinating to learn that you can layer so many different scents to create a beautiful end result”. Truth.
As of October you can officially smell like love, promise and apple blossom thanks to the scent’s department store launch, while fall 2012 will see the fragrance released nationwide. Prices range from $18 – $59.50, and you can thank us for giving you a head start on your teen-oriented Christmas shopping.
