Summer’s Boldest Beauty Trends

There are some beauty trends that we just wouldn’t try (we’re looking at you, Lady Gaga), but this season, designers have given us good reason to get a little wild with our beauty routine. Here are three tricky trends that are both doable, and beautiful.

The Temporary Tattoo
Chanel is widely known for its classic beauty, but this spring, the models strutted down the runway covered in tattoos (temporary, of course!). We’re not talking dragons or flaming skulls – these barely there prints were super feminine with a touch of sexy. For a night out with the girls, try a temporary ‘chain bracelet’ that wraps around your wrist or the silhouette of a tiny bird on your shoulder. The best part about temporary tattoos? They’re temporary – you can play out your adventurous side for one night only, no regrets!

Coloured Lashes
We know that turquoise makeup is a big trend, but the models at DKNY Spring 2010 show wore the colour with a twist: on their lashes. This hue especially works on ladies that have lighter-coloured lashes like blonde, strawberry blonde or light brown. For those with darker lashes, you might find it helpful to first coat lashes in a white primer and then layer a turquoise mascara on top “ the white will help it stand out more. Try this pop of colour with beachy waves or a sleek, high ponytail – just remember to not go overboard with this trend.

Rainbow Eyes
It’s safe to say that multi-coloured eye makeup is hot this summer? If you’re feeling bold, ditch your classic black eye liner and swipe on a bright shade like blue, lilac or orange for a pretty, standout eye. The models at Derek Lam and Michael Kors sported this trend over their entire eyelids.
